Artist Profile: Meet The New Dancehall King, BlaQ Matik – Known in showbiz as BlaQ Matik, Mohammed Guru is a Ghanaian born dancehall artist and songwriter from Adawso in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
BlaQ Matik was born on 18th June, 1998 and the first of 8 kids, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. He attended St. Peter’s Senior High School and currently studying (Finance and information studies) at University of Ghana.
In the year 2016, he begun to pursue his career in music after listening to many songs from artist like Masicka, Popcaan, Vybz Kartel, etc. which he started to develop it through the help of his best friends ch@mpion and Yaw thurz who are also into music.
“These two brothers are more than friends to me. I currently have songs on audiomack making waves. On the 13th of March this year, I released a banger (Dollar sign) which is also making waves”. says BlaQ Matik.
His genre of music are Dancehall, Reggae Dancehall and Drill. He has eight (8) songs to his credit without a record label. The lyrics video of his current song “Dollar Sign” is on YouTube which the official music video will drop soon.
